Actor, screenwriter and creative producer. Born in 87’ Poland. Graduate of acting course at Stanislaw Wyspianski’s Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow [2013] and post-graduate of Cultural management and creative producing at Jagiellonian University [2022]. Erasmus+ scholarship holder of Ringlokschuppen Theater in Mülheim an der Ruhr in Germany. Teacher of the directing and screenplay development classes at AMA Film Academy in Cracow. As an actor works with most acknowledged theaters in the country, creating important and recognised plays. Known from films such as 80 millions, Heart of Love, Marygoround, Joika or Dom Wybranych.
Bonjour, Je suis Antek short film script was awarded with European Short Pitch NISI MASA Luxemburg [2015]. The script of feature film Marygoround was developed in the workshop of Film Spring Open [2017] as well as the European Development workshop of Creative Europe LIM Less is More [2018]. In the same year the finished script of Marygoround would go on to win Best Script in the screenwriters competition at "Trzy Korony'' [2018]. It also won the Most Promising Pitch during HAF - Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum [2019].
The finished film Marygoround was screened at the Cannes Festival as a part of HAF goes to Cannes [2019], the MFF New Horizons: Polish Days - Works in progress [2018], at Polish Days - Finished films [2019], as well as, Meeting Point Vilnus [2019]. The went on to win the following festivals: Fantasia Film Festival in Canada [Grand Prix and the recognition on the New Flesh 2020], Gijon International Film Festival in Spain [Grand Prix 2020], Lund International Fantastic Film Festival in Sweden [Recognition 2020], OFF Camera Film Festival in Poland [The Audience Award 2020], Vistula Polish Film Festival in Moscow [3.rd award 2021], "The Youth and Film" - The Festival of Film Debuts in Poland [Women Filmmakers Association Prize, Player.pl Platform Prize and Studio Cinema Network prize 2021].
Sylwester directed the radio theater play The Man requested by the National Radio Station which had its premiere at the beginning of 2023. In his stories, the worlds which he builds revolve around characters that in reality are marginalized and discriminated against. As an effect Sylwester’s storytelling elevates the voice of the underrepresented and tells the unknown stories allowing viewers to understand and experience a unique and unexplored world. Sylwester has been working as script consultant, screenwriter and co-developer of scripts for streaming companies and production houses in Poland, Switzerland and Germany with top tier creatives.
